Hi, I've got this little bugs living on the water surface of my
freshwater aquarium, and I have no idea what they are. I recently got a whole bunch of plants from a friend who was thinning out his tanks, and I am thinking they must have come in with them. They are extremely tiny, light brown dots, and they jump around on the water surface like fleas when disturbed. There are a lot of them. Any ideas? Can anyone help me? Laura |

Laura Sounds like you may have water fleas which are a crustacean. Here is an article about these with some pics: http://www.microscopy-uk.org.uk/mag/...n99/wflea.html Carl http://aquarium-info.blogspot.com/ |

Daphnia are commonly called water fleas but they live in the water not on the surface and they aren't brown. They are also the best food for fishes that I know!
