purchasing new pond plants and wondering if there might to make sure disease free...should they be treated in some way before placing into pond? Sometimes I give em a bath in potassium Permanganate, to help kill of any nasties that may be on them, other times I merely give em a good hoseing down and let them in a tub of water or such for a few days, but from what I hear its mostly being paranoid for the most part. The biggest problem I have ever had from plants is introducing fairy moss and azola, or common pond snails.......Lots of foolks quaratine plants just like they do fish, some dip or treat in PP or other chemicals, others just plant them without doing anything special. |
