I've got a bunch of the normlal guys, but here is a few special ones in my
refugium. At this point, there are three big ones, that don't look like the standard pink fleshy ones. This guy is about 5" long, and was looking for some food on the surface: http://www.melevsreef.com/pics/1203/bw_top.jpg http://www.melevsreef.com/pics/1203/bw_top1.jpg This guy is about 7" long. http://www.melevsreef.com/pics/1203/bw_seveninch.jpg Here are the bristles. I've never handled one of these guys, but I like to take their pictures. ![]() http://www.melevsreef.com/pics/1203/bw_bristles.jpg Here one found something to munch upon. http://www.melevsreef.com/pics/1203/bw_eating.jpg And this is a very frightened (benign) flatworm. http://www.melevsreef.com/pics/1203/bw_flatworm.jpg That's all the good shots, folks. Any time bristle worms are this big they should be removed. I might add, the term bristle
worms is a bad choice of words, as feather dusters are also bristle worms as are fire worms, spaghetti worms. Some of those worms look like fire worms Marc, is that Enteromorpha Algae, looks like it "And this is a very frightened (benign) flatworm." And soon that Amphipod will be ****ting in his pants :-) From are old friend here Mike Noren http://clk.about.com/?zi=1/XJ&sdn=sa... .fsu.edu%2Fpf ohl%2FFish%2FReefs%2Fbristleworm.faq -- Boomer Want to talk chemistry ? LOL. Bristleworms are always good. However, these guys are big and thus they
are in my refugium. I do know that I have one huge one in my 55g reef. I've seen it twice while moving LR around, and I know it is at least one foot long or more, because what I could see was very very thick. Thick equates to a hell of a long stretch when they want to.... But it never comes out even during Flashlight Patrol. ![]() Marc BigHaig wrote: are these the good worms or the bad worms... "LOL. Bristleworms are always good. "
No they are not always good where did you ever here that line of BS from ? Many are dangerous and eat corals and kill and consume other animals. Did you read the link I posted to Bighaig. I'm LOL because you say they are. You may want to do a little reading by Dr. Ron, Dr Ron Tooney or Dr. Mike Noren. Here are some links for you. http://clk.about.com/?zi=1/XJ&sdn=sa... .fsu.edu%2Fpf ohl%2FFish%2FReefs%2Fbristleworm.faq http://www.aquarium.net/0198/0198_2.shtml -- Boomer Want to talk chemistry ? If I ever see it again, I might try to. It never is out as far as I can tell,
but I know it's in there. Marc CapFusion wrote: "Marc Levenson" wrote in message ... I do know that I have one huge one in my 55g reef. This one is bigger than any cucumber I've ever had. At some point, something
that big gets a big appetite and may decide to swallow up zoanthids whole. Marc Rod wrote: If I ever see it again, I might try to. It never is out as far as I can tell, but I know it's in there.
