My Eclipse 3 tadpole pond, established a few weeks
ago, has grown its first frog! It's a little green frog massing about the same as a mature tadpole. Now what to do with it... ![]() I've been feeding the tadpoles lettuce leaves (zapped 20 sec then cooled) and algae flakes (tropical fish food). Should I do something different for the frog stage? I have HBH Frog & Tadpole Bites for my African Dwarf Frogs (in community tanks) but I'm not sure those would work for semi-aquatic wild frogs. This is cool. ![]() Gail near San Antonio TX Zone 8 |

Noted here, Pacific Treefrogs have quit calling, but I did see an adult in the lily pond today, mid-day in fact. Lots of froglets. Starting to put the fantails out. 2nd adult goes out tomorrow. I have 5 babies from last year back in there. Hoping to start seeing some changing colors. ~ jan ~Power to the Porg, Flow On!~ |

oups.com... pinhead crickets, mealworms, tiny garden worms, tiny slugs, wingless fruit flies, any bug. kathy :-) Thanks Kathy, Reel & Jan for the advice. I will capture it and turn it loose soon. That was the original intention, anyway. I'm not sure I could capture enough live food to keep it healthy but will try that, too, until I can move it back out into the pond. Gail |
