Hi All,
I put my first Hippo (regal) tang into my tank yesterday. Any advice. He still seems a little shy so far but is getting along well with the coral beauty! ~m |

BTW - I have heard people say that you should add crushed garlic to the
Tang's diet to boost immune system - is this correct? I also see that you should add sea veggies to supplement diet - I did but the tang wont go near them the cleaner shrimp love it though.... ~m "Michael Lawford" wrote in message ... I would tell you to keep romaine lettuce or seaweed in the tank so he can graze on it. Tangs like to eat all day. It's also a pretty good idea to keep him in a separate tank to fatten him up a bit.. so he is stronger for the introduction into your main tank,. Good luck with him |

Agree with letting him get fat for awhile ( maybe about 6 weeks) if he
doesn't seem to be aggressive enough to eat at first. Would also rec. getting a piece of highly branched dead coral because mine loves to go in it at night and the at first sign of danger. With proper quarantine you shouldn't need the garlic I never had that much luck with it and with a 6 week quarantine haven't had an outbreak in 5 years Kevin "Michael Lawford" wrote in message ... When you give him flake, just soak it in the garlic juice.
Don't put garlic in the tank. Also, your blue tang mostly love nori. You can buy it in most of oriental markets. Be careful not to buy seasoned(oiled) one. SW "Michael Lawford" wrote in message ...
