Default Ammonia test kits, how long does it take?

I got an ammonia test kit using drops and it takes 20 minutes to get results.
Do all ammonia drop tests take this long? Are there shorter ones?

I think mine is Hagen brand. It was a Canadian company.

Thanks.
Chuck

I use an API masterkit.
Ammonia, pH, High pH, Nitrite, and Nitrate.
It uses drops and it only takes 5 minutes.

Without getting too technical, the API and the Hagen ammonia tests are
not the same, and actually measure slightly differently. At work, I sold
Hagen, but I smuggled in API ammonia testers to use when I was in a hurry
(customer water tests).

Which is best for you depends on your pH, but I wouldn't worry as ammonia
tests are the least used once the tank is established. Which pH tester
also depends on your pH, and I'm going blind from trying to figure out
API's gH test, and someone show me an accurate NO3 test.... *grumble,
venting pent up reagent frustrations*.

API's gH test:
Ok, so it's not just me who has trouble
distinguishing yellow from pale green?

I've taken to looking down the tube instead of through it. For some
tests (ie: titration) this seems to work a bit better.

Another trick, use half the water (2.5ml). Now each drop represents
2dgH. Saves reagent when your water is liquid rock (and who cares if
it's 36 or 37dgH ;~).

The Aquarium Pharmecuticals one I have takes 5 minutes.

THANK YOU. Why don't "web designers" understand this? Oh, I know it's
HARD to say ''width=90%''. Bah.

Seachem's (NO3?) nitrate should be very accurate. Good luck and later!
