Hey guys, I finally posted my updated website this weekend. There are still a few pages that haven't been updated but I don't really have experience in web design so it's a slow process. It's betta specific for those who are interested.... and for those of you who know me, this should come as no surprise. ;-) Happy Easter! Christie |

Hey....Nice job
Its nice to see more pages / information on betta's, I have a habit of trying to talk to people working at the fish stores about telling people things that are not true, like they can not live in a lot of water because of their tail/ fins because its hard for them to swim, or all the other silly things they tell people who buy them, and the shame of it is when you see the 2 cup containers that are sold with the pic of the happy betta on front ....what are people to think, they don't know any better and believe what the store tells them, just the fact they are put on display on shelf's in some stores makes them less then pets to some people, throw away I guess. any way liked you page, any chance you could make the font bigger? Are you going to put a section on breeding, I noticed people lately trying to breed them with out being ready, like not understanding how small the fry are and the fact they are not going to eat crushed up fish food, and well you know all the other stuff that goes along with bring up to 500 fry into the world and not killing them in the first week. Thanks Nikki,
Yeah, I may be making font size tweeks in the future but I want to get everything up first. There are no plans in the near future for breeding advice. I don't breed them so I generally keep my mouth shut on the topic. Should I decide to then I may offer a section on it. That's a ways off I imagine. Thanks! C |

I've read most of your old site. Is there any new content you'd like to point out? -- Put the word aquaria in the subject to reply. Did you read the FAQ? http://faq.thekrib.com |

I never saw the site before but it is quite nice now. I like the way
you've laid it out etc just one little thing - picture of your tank on the choosing a tank page is 0.5 mb and takes a LONG time to load - just so you know. The information is really useful on your site esp "How often do I need to change my water if my tank is uncycled?" I am going to start testing to see when i'm SUPPOSE to do waterchanges instead of doing it when I *think* it needs to be done. Definatly the best betta site i've seen... now I do have a few questions after reading your FAQs...if my betta is not blowing bubble nests everyday it DOESNT mean it's not happy right? Also soaking food in water you are talking about those little pellets that come in little packs with cardboard and you just cut a little hole and top out the pellets right? I do feed mines blood worms once or twice a week. So those pellets are kinda BAD huh? |

![]() picture of your tank on the choosing a tank page is 0.5 mb and takes a LONG time to load Thanks Mariachi. I will fix that this weekend. I noticed I had some photos that were too big in my gallery section too. I was, admittedly, rushing to get the new resdesign up. if my betta is not blowing bubble nests everyday it DOESNT mean it's not happy right? That's correct. Bubble nests are usually a sign of a happy and healthy betta but the absence of a bubble nest doesn't mean your fish isn't thriving. Some just don't blow bubble nests often. I've had bettas that only blew a few nests a year. Now that I have all my bettas in tanks with power filters I rarely see nests at all. Also soaking food in water you are talking about those little pellets that come in little packs with cardboard and you just cut a little hole and top out the pellets right? Some pellet food is better then others. The biogold tends not to swell all that much but betta bites can grow three times the size. I would soak all pellet food just so you can see just how much you're really feeding. Personally, I'd rather go with blood worms, black worms and brine shrimp. I also feed flake food occasionally, mostly out of laziness. I wouldn't say pellets are always bad but if you're having problems with bloating or constipation they are often the culprit. |
