Nah, knew it couldn't last. The clean rock from the old tank looks
clear still, *but* one of the brand new nice looking pieces I bought
at the weekend to top it with has a ...guess what, on the bottom. I
was destined to spend my life culturing these things. My fish are
just two nervy little clowns, and the cleaner shrimp has done great in
there so far, so I'm thinking a peppermint shrimp might be a good way
to go. Wonder how good ther are at eating the little blighters.

If yours is a Fish Only tank, you can just use natural/biological methods in the form of a Raccoon butterfly, Chaetodon lunula or a Filefish, Acreicthys tomentosus. Both of them will "visibly" remove all Aiptasia and the other nasty, the An. majano. I say "visibly" cos they will indeed eat up all the anemones you can see. If you remove the fish after the extermination exercise, you will see that the anemones slowly reappear cos they're even more resilient than The Terminator

Sorry for the bad pics but it was the best I could get for now. I am curious
what the little creature just right of center is. I have noticed 4 of them
in my tank recently and have no clue if they are harmful or not. It has
white banding on its arms and is sorta similar to a anemone but also looks
like some sorta soft star fish. It seems to be pretty stationary and does
not move around. What is this thing ? Is it harmful to fish or anything else
that may be in my tank? If it is how do I get rid of it?

I did some searches and looked at some pics of different hitchhiker type
brittle stars and parasites and found nothing that looked like this. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.
