I purchaced a small piece of Pulsing XENIA a few months back. It is
beautiful and quite wonderful to watch ....however it seems to be on a forced march to cover as much as the tank as I will alow !. Can someone tell me the best way to remove or trim it to keep it under control ? My LFS told me I would not be able yo remove it from thelive rock that it sucks itself on to firmly ? I have not tried to remove any of it yet but just wish to know best way in case it starts to bug me. THANKS for any help. |

Wish I had that same issue, My Xenia died shortly after introducing to
my tank. Thinking I got some bum Xenia? Or maybe too intense lighting too quickly (I hear you are supposed to acclimate to HAlides) TH wrote: you could always send me some... ![]() "rtk" wrote in message ... wrote: I purchaced a small piece of Pulsing XENIA a few months back. I took a couple of them to the lfs and he kindly gave me trades, but now it's also overtaking his watery world and he greets me at the door with NO MORE! I've just been using a scissors on them now. They are pretty, but they're about to swallow up my whole tank. rtk |

Thanks for responding . When you say scrape it what should I use ? A
razor blade or a dull knife ? When I do scrape it off do I just throw it away ? In a way that seems unkind ? I thought I may try to use suction it off when I do a water change. Do you think this may work? THANKS again I am new to this hobby but am really enjoying all the new things I am learning. But having it already out of control, just have to keep cutting it back. You generally can't "scrape" it off to keep it from coming back, there are just too many knooks and crannies in Live Rock. wrote: I purchaced a small piece of Pulsing XENIA a few months back. You can cut it off with a razor blade. You can use a
hemostat to remove the remaining sizable pieces, and then use a toothbrush to remove the tiny amount still in the rock. Like I said you really can't effectivly scrape it off. Just cut it back
and give the extra to your local LFS. They generally won't buy it, but they will generally take it. wrote: Thanks for responding . When you say scrape it what should I use ?
