where is dead rock?

With hirocks and reeferrocks are out, ReefBones are dense (so I've heard),
does anyone knows any vendors that sell highly porous dry (dead) rock?

In my experience, just ask your LFS for base rock. I usually get pretty good
pieces that develop into LR over time.

I would love to know the answer to this question myself. You could get
live base rock but the cost is always higher then dead rock and the
pieces and never as nice. The reason to get dead rock is the cost
factor along with getting nice shapes and sizes. Filling up a large
tank with all live rock can be a very expensive venture. Can anyone
help?

One of my LFS is Aquarium Adventure. They mighjtThey have a few
stores---most in Ohio.
They sell dead rock by the pound. I think its about $3.

try www.craigslist.com . Pick your town or somewhere close.

I found a person who just had a bunch in his garage. He was glad to give me
the bucketful for free. Maybe you'll also find someone who is just done
with the hobby or has extra. I've gotten several other things through
craigslist as well. If you don't see what you are looking for then post
what you want and people usually will contact you.
