Just to clear up for you
incase your confused

Both discus and angel fish are cichlids.
Discus (or pancakes) are different tho from the angelfish (scalare)
mostly in price
heh heh
if you can find a breeder of either
your in for a treat!

Thanks Mike, I have two that have paired up that are in a breeding tank now.
Their first two batches were unproductive. I removed all the live plants and
the tank is bear now. We'll see how it goes this time.

I have found sectioning off another fish behind a transperant tank divider
will provoke the pair to bond better
and usually triggers a spawn in fish playing hard to get

If you can get that 'plastic canvas' stuff from a craft shop a sectioned off
corner is very easy
I use a stiff peice of filter hose on the top of the plastic canvas screen
allows me to wedge it in nice and tight

In many cases just being able to see another fishtank can set them off
