Go fishing. Heard it done by quite a few folks on various forums. Get
smallhook and heat and reform to make it as small as is neded, so me
2# test mono and some shrimp. Easy to snatch baited hook out so
worong fish does not get it. If its a veggie eater stick some nori on
the hook. Make sure to pinch in the barb on the hook though.

Add a cold Beer and your set for a bit of amusement. I sure as heck
would hate to have to tear live rock apart to catch a fish.

Are yu handy with making things? Some lexan from big box store and
some weldon glue will do fine for a fish trap or even a soda bottle
with the end cut off and inverted and attached with string or super
glue to form a funnel trap works fine, and is fast and eay to make. Yu
can heat neck somewhat or cut it to make it large enough for target
fish to enter if need be,.

Fish traps. May take a while before the correct fish gets into the trap,
but it sure beats tearing everything down.

You can adjust flow on powerheads by trimmning the impeller blades
with a couple of swipes on a file or sandpaper.

I finally added 2 peewee 90 gph powerheads, but they have a protective
sleve.

I bought the tank w/ a huge powerhead and it blasted a ritteri into a
watery grave.

I used a trap last time, but I don't know my chances of catching all 11
fish.

I thought I'd use the opportunity to add 30# of live rock as well. I
have some nice purple algae that I'd hate to bury, so it makes sense to
just do it all at once.

I think a trap would be less stressful anyway, so I'll try my luck at
that first. I'll be surprised if I get them all.

Thanks! Good to know. Maybe I can wrap the powerhead in some polyester
filter material.

Get some of those sleeve filter sponges like used on the mag drive
pumps or that they sell for the maxijet powerheads. IIRC Big Als
online sells the maxi jet foam filter sleeves for like 2 for under
$3.
