Default Nudibranch=Flatworm?!?

hi,
I recently noticed what seem to be some small mustard colored nudibranchs in
my aquarium. Are these also considered Flatworms? I saw 1 that was about an
inch long. Then there are about a half dozen others that are 1/4 inch or
less. They are kind of cute. I could stand them if their numbers stay low.
.. Are these bad for my tank? If so, what kind of fish would control their
population?
Is it not so much of a coincidence that Ive seen more since I trapped out
the 6-Line Wrasse?
Thanks again-----
Stringer

Default Baby Sea Hares?

They look much more like slugs than worms.
Maybe they are baby sea hares? I have a big black Bali Sea Hare to control
algae.
These little things dont really swim, they kind of float through the water
until they hit something solid---then they inch along like worms. The big
one does the same thing. They do seem to have those "bunny ear" oral
tentacles at the head. These tiny slugs are mustard yellow---the big one is
black.
I dont know how they procreate---I think they lay eggs---But I didnt see any
eggs (not that I`d know what they look like).
Is it possible there were sea hare eggs in the live rock?
any help is appreciated,
stringer........

I've been investigating worms for possible mandarin food. Flatworms are
considered a pest because they will damage corals, but they could be a
good food source for certain fish.

No, nudibranches are not the same as flatworms. Flatworms are of the
phyllum Plathyhelminthes (spelling?)which includes things like flukes,
planaria, etc., while nudibranches are mollusks (basically smails with
no shell - ie: slugs) - same phyllum as snails, octopus, clams, and the
like.

thanks for your reply,

here is a link to a pic of the creature in question. They dont undulate like
flatworms----they just kind of drift. Let me know what it is and if its a
concern.

Those are most likely sponge eating nudies. They are small and don't eat
much.

That's not very yellow looking.

Since it seems that you have quite a number of them,
then they are eating something substantial. They
could be a type of soft coral eater. Look to see
what coral they most likely look like, and then
check that coral to see if they or their eggs are
underneath or on or near.
