It's quite easy to know the difference. Facts can be checked via a
search. Also, if I state an opinion, I say *in my opinion* or IMO for
short. That way anyone new would be able to tell the difference.

Over time, you will also come to this conclusion. It's just a matter
of time.

I've already killfiled her anyway.

That's wonderful.
However, newbies posting here that do not know any better may take
something that is somebody's opinion as fact, or something that is
incorrect as being true. I don't like leaving false, misleading,
incomplete info out there so some newbie could run into trouble.
When somebody other than she does the same, I will either correct it,
mention it's their opinion, or fill in the blanks like I always have.
Nobody ever has a problem with it, only her.
If you were reading a thread here and found false info, or very
incomplete info, and you knew better....wouldn't you post a reply to
fix it?
I would hope so.
This is how folks learn.
Sometimes it's new info to the hobby that was once thought to be
right, but isn't anymore.
Such as the nitrifying bacteria adhering to all surfaces in the tank.
It was once thought they were floating about in the water column
(which they are not) and that vacuuming the gravel would remove too
many of them during a cycling period (which it does not).
This info was recently learned within like the past 10 yrs.
For us that have been in the hobby for 30-50 + years, that was all new
to us.
The one inch of fish per gallon rule was learned many years ago to be
way too vague and useless for anything other than feeder gups, neons
and other fish of similar size. Too many variables dictate how many
fish can be stocked in X amount of gallons.
This is where correcting old, false info comes into play.

So, like I said before...it's just a matter of time until you see the
true picture of what's really going on.

With all the people I'm getting in my killfile, I doubt I'll see much of it.

Jen

That's great.

Look how much space you took up when it could have been used for
useful info about fish and their care.
You want proof...YOU take the time to go back through the archives and
go back to the begining where I corrected your
incorrect "info" you gave out on Bettas. More than just I corrected
you, but you only took offense to me.
That happened over and over. I have a life and don't have the time to
go through threads of info that I already know it true.
You seem to find it outrageous that I called you a moron for replying
here instead of emailing me directly, as to not take up any more space
here. You called me a bitch in one of your recent replies to me. It
also wasn't the first time either.
I have asked over and over that you do not reply to me here and to do
it via email, as to not waste space here anymore. That if you did
reply here you would have to be a moron.
You replied over and over after that. So yeah, you must be a moron.
"Here's your sign" = )~

Please stop! I've already killfiled whoever it is you're answering. But if
you keep going on off topic like this. I'll killfile you too, even though I

This is getting so ridiculous. I might just unsubscribe to this group.
Which I don't want to.

You've killedfiled the wrong person. It's not rocket science to see
this "Concerned Aauaria Group Members" person is the (new nick) troll.
Have a look at all the posts.

Zebulon's (also under prev nicks), although she replies unecessarily
(IMO) to posts of late from this Tristan person, she's been around here
for ages and provides good and valuable advice that I'e used.

As have many other people and there has never been a problem before the
troll envision and slander started. I've been on and off this group since
1996. For all this so called "bad advice" (difference of opinion and
experiences actually) that I'm supposed to have given out "recently," I
haven't had one person take my advice and regret it.

I made the fatal mistake on disagreeing strongly here with one person and
sadly, that person can't let it go.

along the line she lost the entire content and target of this
post......or perhaps she just convieniently twisted and worded it to
her advantage Everyone on these forums are not the fools you seem to
think they are.........There is only one fool, need i mention who I am
referring to........no, its pretty self evident who it is!

Certainly. But when you attack the other person, you lose credibility.
Just give your own opposing advice, that's all you need to do.

No worries Jen, I'm sure that Tynk does not take offense at such an easily
made assumption....most people think I am male when I am not...but hey, ho
in the Usenet world it doesn't matter because noone knows who anyone is in
reality.....what actually matters is getting the correct information out
to someone needing help without the posts vanishing under a mire of other
rubbish.....we are working on it.....but if you do need urgent advice a
good place to go for now is The Freshwater Aquarium which is a google
group.....maybe one day normal service will be resumed on the Usenet
groups but right now we do our best.....in fact you will find TFA a very
vibrant and active group if you go take a look....the link is:-

http://groups.google.co.uk/group/The...m?lnk=li&hl=en

It is a very mildly moderated group....that maintains a spirit of usenet
combined with a more modern approach (oh and no trolls) - well whatever is
driven by the members....

I prefer Usenet. But I'll keep the link, because I've almost had enough of
all the people attacking eachother here.

thanks

Jen

Bad memory going on or what!?
You have been replied to countless times for giving out bad, false or
incomplete information over the years.
If you want to argue this point, do it by emailing me directly! Stop
posting this crap on here!
If you don't have a question or some valid information about fish,
don't post it here.
Your reply was just another example of you bait a person into an
argument.
DO IT VIA EMAIL, NOT HERE!

Saying this to Carol is like talking to a wall
