Jan, Jan, Jan ... that is an ad!

True, but I was trying to make a statement about the content of that
particular commercial, more a statement about "looks can be deceiving". A
catfish chow fed koi can look healthy on the outside, while the inside is
getting fat deposits built up around its internal organs.

The only sound relationship between cholesterol and
heart disease is how much money pharmaceutical companies can make from selling their
drugs to lower cholesterol. It took them years and a lot of money before an
"independent lab" showed taking their drugs might lower the chance of a heart attack.

Like ulcers, scientist will eventually be able to determine which microbes are
responsible for heart disease (there is some idea already-

Cholesterol is an essential lipid component of every cell membrane in the body.
Cholesterol is a "band aid" that comes in to repair damaged cells in arteries.
Find what is damaging the cells, cure the disease. Just like find the bacteria
causes ulcers, cure the disease. bacteria is not the ONLY cause of ulcers, of
course.

Yup, even buff, thin people can have clogged arteries from that diet. Like
that commercial where the high cholesterol number is chasing the snow skier
down the mountain. ~ jan
