Default Crown Tail Bettas

The local PetsMart changed the name from fringetails to crowntail bettas.
What a great selection they had, even females! The girl working there said
they're selling a lot of female bettas. I managed to bypass them........

I came home with 5 beautiful platties for $1.49 ea. They had nice young
clown loaches but at $8.99 ea. I had to bypass them also. We just had to
replace the large water pump in the big pond so are a bit short of "mad
money" this week.

They had very nice plump healthy looking Neon's and black Neon's for $1.99
ea.

What are the prices where you guys live?

My Neons cost me £5 for 6 but these were small - bear in mind that in
spite of the exchange rate which would make that $10 you tend to pay $/£
and a lot of the time your fish are cheaper anyway - so if you get
better than $5 for 6 you are doing way better than me.......Cardinals
come in at around £15 for 6 so do the pound/dollar stuff and if you pay
less than $15 for 6 again you are doing better than me.....

Platys are around £9 for 6 and the $/£ thing kind of indicates that on
UK prices you have a good deal......

And they all looked so healthy and were active. This store takes very good
care of their stock. I seldom had anything die from there. Maybe tomorrow
I'll head out to the closer store, Pet Supermarket and see what they have to
offer. I got my clown plecos there, aquarium plants, and many fancy
goldfish.

It's so nice to be able to walk without some kind of pain which means
getting out more. I didn't want the little platties to have to stay in the
bag longer than necessary to stop at store #2. When I buy fish I almost
always head for home. There's a huge aquarium store in Nashville that I also
want to check out. The selection there is incredible. They also have SW
fish, plus a reptile room.

In IL, our local Petsmart are approx:
Typical Platies..same...$1.49..however, Coral Platies (dwarf platies)
run $.99)
Small Clown Loaches, $8.99 (has been for quite a while now).
Crowntail Bettas run like $5-6...(it's been a while since I bought a
male CT from them and the local PetCo's sell CT's for $6.99.
Veils are like $3.99.
Females at Petsmart, $1.99...no matter the fin variety.
Females at PetCo's, $2.49.
Neons at both are $1.99, but at PetCo til the 15th are $.99 each.
====================
The prices are about the same here. I went to Pet Supermarket today and
came home with 2 small pearl groumies at $3.49 ea and 4 neon's at .99ea.
:-))) I'm taking a chance they'll survive. Each week I'll pick up a few
more until there's a nice little school of them. She also has other
colorful small tetras I'm going to look at again. I'm in no hurry. I want
to be happy with what I get.

I also found out we're getting our own PetsMart in our town. They should be
open before Christmas, in the huge new outdoor Mall being built by the
Interstate. They have the largest selection of fish of all the chains here.
