Also remember to flush and through out the water
first before you use it. It's critical for figuring out if the unit is working well or not, or when check out http://filterdirect.com/catalog/ Best prices on ro/di items and TDS meters, which sell for $24.00 They will install any GPD membrane ni any setup you desire as well as any type or brand name. The RODI units are made by Honeywell Water Products division of Honeywell Inc, and marketed by the name of Water |General. They cost 1/3 or more less than what LFS or online fish supply places typically charge. I have two of the systems now for over 3 years and have yet to have problems, and the replacement costs for fitlers or resin is much chepaer than most online vendors catering to the fish hobbyist crowd. Ask for Oscar.......he will treat you right. |

It's critical for figuring out if the unit is working well or not, or when Many people do not realize that a TDS meter is unnecessary. Then there is the issue of TDS as TDS, as NaCl and CaCO3. A conductivity meter can not measure any of these values/say. There is no way a TDS meter can tell you how many ppm of Total Dissolved Solids there are in a sample. My husband says the same can be acomplished by floating a meat thermometer in the water for 5 minutes. if the setting is above well done or broasted, the total dissolved solids are within normal levels. |
