Ah. Much better than what I'm using, but I want to find a timer that controls my
actinics, my daylight bulbs, and my moonlights at different times. Thanks, though.

If you torture the data long enough, eventually it will confess
to anything.

Well, Google produces only trash for this. I'll have to search more when I have
more time. Thanks.

I am thinking about designing such timer for months... :-)
Cannot get around to actually do it.
From the electronic point of view it is very simple device.

It should have 6-8 independent channels with an option
to do the cool-off time for turning on MH lamps, also
lunar calendar and DC output to dimm the lunar lights.
It could be one time programmable through your pc, to avoid
the dreadful need for making display and keyboard into the unit.

I have not seen them on the marked for a long time.
The last time I purchased some, the local walmart
was out of stock, and so I ordered 4 of them direct
from the manufacture.

No idea what the quality is on this one, but I like the fact that they put
it together with separate 8 amp relays for each outlet.

I've got a question into the tech service gurus at VWR (a scientific supply
house) to see if this unit controls the four timer-ed outlets with
independent programs, or if the four timed outlets are ganged together.
Its a lot cheaper than the automated aquarium product, above.

If you want to know if it is available, you can call
the manufacture at 1-800-919-3101

If you would like, I can scan the instructions with
pictures, and send it to you.

That's not it. Same manufacture. I've got some like
those, but they use little watch type batteries that
have to be replaced when they go dead.

I would not give 2 cents for a truck load of coralife digital timers.
I bought 2 of the dual digital timers and they both headed south and
have been replaced 2 times already and I am currently waiting to get
one of them replaced right now. As bad of a rap as their old
mechanical timers got (supposedly were notorious for causing fires) I
would rather have them anyday, and go through the hassle of simply
turning the dial to reset time if power goes out. IMHO the digitasl
are a real pain to program, and you may htink you have it all ready to
go, and it dumps. Battery life is not the issue it just seems very
sensitive (and thats according to ESU) to power surges and static or
lightning.......I had one that had to be set opposite of what it was
for it to work right..and that was right out of the box new. Day was
night and night was day. Unfortunalely it was replaced and went south
to where it failed within 3 months of receiving it as a replacement./
I will say one thing about Coralife (ESU), they are good at making
good on warranty claims.
