Default Removing Dried Algae and Lime Scale

Hi,

I've just moved house and I'm ready to restart my Juwel 180.

The juwel has a heater filter tower in the corner which now has
unsightly dried algae in the gap between the tower and glass. Anyone
dealt with similar without having to re glue the tower ?

Also, the glass generally has traces of dried algie and limescale
which are proving difficult to remove with a cloth and water. Anyone
know of a safe fish friendly method of cleaning the glass prior to
adding gravel, plants and water and beginning cycling ?

Calcium and Lime remover sold in grocery stores or even white vinegar
or lemon juice. The calcium and lime and rust remover is safe to use,
if you rinse the tank well after use, its just fine....

I've used Lime-Away for years. CLR also works well. Rinse afterward.

Have you tried Baam?
It works a lot better than Lime away (since they changed their product
and it doesn't work as good as it used to).
Baam is pretty cheap too. It also doesn't burn my skin like Lime-Away
does.
CLR, the last time I used it when the store was out of Lime-Away, and
before they came out with Baam....didn't seem to touch my hard water
deposits (liquid rock for water).
===================================
No I haven't. I haven heard of it but will certainly look for it the next
time I'm at Wally World. Someone told me if you put a very thin coat of
Vaseline on things like reflectors and filters the minerals wont stick. I'm
afraid that may harm delicate fish so haven't tried it. Have you heard of
it?

The "Item" you're talking about is a glass tank. I was telling him to

You rushed into posting your lies and nonsense and made yourself sound

Well thanks for the sensible replies. I'll probably go for white
vinegar, or lemon.
