One of my ghost shrimp recently molted, and has turned white. I thought the
color would fade as the shell hardened a bit, but after a couple weeks he's still white. My other shrimp are just fine, and are their normal clear color. What gives? |

![]() You may need to add some iodine to the tank. I add Kent Marine Iodine, maybe a teaspoon a week for 40 gallons. http://www.fishpondinfo.com/shrimp.htm On Fri, 16 Jul 2004, Nitesbane wrote: One of my ghost shrimp recently molted, and has turned white. I think calcium might have been an issue in the color change but really do not remember. I had ghost shrimp at that time so I watched the posts. If I am correct, nothing definitive was ever mentioned. I'm sorry...maybe others here have some additional information. |

I just typed in "ghost shrimp white" in the google search for this forum and came back with lots of info. Our friend Jim Brown responded with a very interesting answer, saying he thought it was a parasite affliction. I'd do that search and read through them to see what you can find out. |
