hello all,

I just got back from a fish store in Lindsay and saw this beauty...

does it matter, it is an African catfish... I'm sorry if I put it in a
cichlids only newsgroup. I figured you people would like to see a cool

actually it is not a catfish, it's just called a African Butterfly fish

Shawn,

You are way off identifying you fish. It is not even remotely related
to either cichlids or catfish. It is a Pantodon buchhulzi. They have
been around the hobby for a very long time but not many people keep
them because they are quite efficient predators.

I know that, I corrected myself, I said that there is a cichlid called the
butterfly cichlid, I have a African Butterfly fish... most of been thinking
of something else at the time, it is a cool fish thou in my opinion
