1. What is the difference between a 6700 and a 9700 and a 10,000 PC lamp?
2. If the supplier will only offer a 50/50 or a daylight bulb(10,000) which should I use? 3. If I have a 48" fixture with 4 lamps what combinations would be best? Thanks, Jim |

For freshwater you really don't need much over 5000 IMO. The higher Kelvin ratings have more blue/UV wavelengths. If I remember correctly 5500 is like noon day daylight. Also the higher rated bulbs are a lot more expensive. 50/50 is a good bulb to use. I used to use those and Triton bulbs. One plant bulb ( for the nice color it brings out in the fish), 2 50/50 and one Triton is what I used to use when I was running flourescent lights. |
