I just ordered the 44lbs box of the "pre-cure" fiji from Marine depot
and I am happy with it. There is still some life on it even toguh I'm not sure how much will survive the curing process. But there is purple, green and orange coraline on all the pieces. The shipment was well packed with nice large pieces and very very little rubble in the bottom of the box. With shipping to Minnesota it worked out to about $4.50 a pound whcih is a lot better than the $9-$10 range I see at the LFS for rock with no life on it what so ever. Ken D "Joe V." wrote in message ... Was curious if anyone buys live rock over the Internet ... Found 2 sites I was considering using: Fiji Live Rock - 46lbs for $100 http://www.petsolutions.com/cgi-bin/...30.000000&l=73 Fiji Live Rock - 44lbs for $149.95 http://www.marinedepotlive.com/lr.html I don't understand the price difference, but my plan was to combine this with selected live rock specimans from local stores ... I've read about curing, and plan to treat this as uncured regardless of what the website says. Good plan or bad? As always, any advice/comments/suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks! |

Cured or not, you still need to cycle it in a holding tank or QT. There will
be some die-off of some sort. Alot or little, it really depend on the trip and how good it package together. CapFusion,... "Joe V." wrote in message ... I got some live rock from Harbor Aquatics and it was excellent live
rock. It would be my first choice. Joe V. wrote: Was curious if anyone buys live rock over the Internet ... I purchased about 150 lbs of LR from Tampa Bay Sal****er, and am
extremely happy with it. More life than I have ever seen on rock, including lots of cool hitchikers. Shipped in water - with my skimmer going I never even had a measurable ammonia spike.
