Default Some question about goldfish excrements

Emil,

Funny you should mention this. I just started giving my
Moors fish sticks yesterday (soaked first). Their pooh is
not coming out the same colour. This is nothing to worry
about. Just ensure you vary their diet - stops them
getting bored and is good for them.

Why do the peas have to be deshelled?

How many peas would you throw in a tank with 3 smallish goldfish?

You deshell the peas as the skins are less edible than the soft bit in the
middle. It also makes them more digestable.

If they're very small fish, I recommend putting the peeled peas in a garlic
crusher. If there's any garlic residue in the crusher it'll drive the fish
crazy for the peas (they seem to love the stuff, but I wouldn't recommend
giving it to them in a pure form) This'll ensure that the peas are crushed
up very small and they'll sink better too! (no mouth obstructions)
