Default Polyester Batting Which one is good?

Found some 100% Polyeter batting at WALMART today.
It says "non-Allergenic" but it also says "Mildew Resistant"
Does that mean there's a chance they may have anti-fungicides
in there? ie: not good to use in my filter?

Yep, that would be a bad one. It might not cause harm, might be
dilute enough, but why risk it.

I tried the polyester-batting-as-filter-floss once and the stuff came from
walmart. It was a disaster! Algae went from next to nothing to out of
control in less than a week. If you are going to use polyester batting, buy
if from the LFS.

well algae is an indication that the tank has cycled... so it means it properly
housed the biobugs. Ingrid
