Tadpoles in the Sandbox

For weeks we have been hearing toads all around the yard, but have seen none
in the yard or the pond. Yesterday my wife went to dump the lid of the kids
sandbox which is always full of water, and she saw something move. We
checked it out, and we found about 100 tad/toadpoles, not sure which. The
water was gross and skanky and dirty. I didn't want them to die, so I bit
the bullet and dumped it into the pond. We'll see what happens...
