between kalkwasser from the LFS and mrs. wages pickling lime.
found a place that carrys it but want to make sure its same stuff.

It's the same.
I buy it by the case directly from Mrs. Wages.

Seconded. They are both just packages of calcium hydroxide. If you
buy it from the LFS you pay 500% (and up) more for packaging and
marketing. I think we're targeted because so many of us WILL pay a
lot of money for something we need, (400 for a skimmer, 1000 for a
box of rocks) so we're being taken advantage of.

Any hobby or recreation is absurdly expensive, because people will spend a
lot. Try comparing alk increaser for pools (or aquariums) and baking soda.
Or look at the cost of a pool cleaner.
