Default AH Supply Hood / lighting

So, say I spring for a new hood so I can get all the lighting I want
for my Eclipse... Where do the cords and crap that hang off the back go
if I use one of these?

Look her: http://ahsupply.com/finished_enclosures.htm

I actually built my own enclosure, so that it covered the whole tank and
left a recess at the back for the filters, etc. If you use dimensional
lumber (boards) it does not take too much skill.

Here are acouple of links, there's tons more.

I absolutely cannot build a hood. I flunked sissors in kindergarten
and have never recovered! It's gotta come ready made.
I can't even draw a straight line. Seriously! lol

I flunked Art as well, but I'm recovering. If you can't convince a relative
to build you a hood, then the wiring goes out the back of the hood. It looks
like they come pre-drilled based on the pictures. AH also includes a 'how
to', but you have to tick it when ordering.

I can drill. That's one thing I have managed. I even put up shelves a
couple of times but as I never managed to successfully use the little
thingy that finds the wall studs, I had one huge shelf coming tumbling
down in the middle of the night, smashing vases and sending my dog into
a terror from which it took her days to recover. Some frigging watch
dog!

Sounds like you need a local DIY hobbyist or a carpenter then. How about
checking with your local aquarium society? There is usually no lack of
people there who think they are handy ;~) and they will at least
understand exactly what you are trying to do.

Of course I realized last night that the bio wheel filter system is
part of the hood, so I'd have to replace that, too.

I forgot to ask, how big is your tank and which lighting option are you
going for? What do you plan to grow?
