Do fish stores ever quarantine new fish as a rule or would that be
expecting too much - i.e., loss of profit from holding back stock... It would be great to know that when I went to my LFS, the fish I chose had already been quarantined and deemed healthy. I know some stores will give you credit or refunds if the fish dies within a number of days but does anyone guarantee healthy fish? Just curious. |

They have massive tank rooms out the back where you can see all of the quarintined fish - they have "Not for Sale" on them usually. Then two or three weeks later they move them out into the sales tanks. Oz |

But not a popular protocol among LFS. -- Toni http://www.cearbhaill.com/discus.htm |

This place is *the* place in New South Wales to buy your fish apparently. They have a very good reputation. I was disappointed I had to wait for my black neons, so long, but I can tall you it was worth it in the end ![]() Oz |

In the UK its seems normal for them to quarantine for 24 hrs. What a
waste of time!!!!!!!!!! Chris. Mandy wrote: Do fish stores ever quarantine new fish as a rule or would that be expecting too much - i.e., loss of profit from holding back stock... Where do you do your shopping? I'm in Hamilton and am looking for a
good reliable source for fish. I haven't been having a great deal of luck with the big chains in my area, but am unsure of where else to go. Right now I'm interested in Angelfish in particular. Go to the new Big AL's in Oakville they are pretty good. SuperPet in
Burlington is also good. I deal with mostly cichlids so I go to private breeders allot aswell. -- Craig ________________________________ www.CanadianCray.tk www.Bluecrayfish.com "axemanchris" wrote in message ... Because 24 hours will not effectively do anything. If they really wanted to
effectively quarantine then a 4-6 week approach would be effective. "Billy" wrote in message ... "Chris" wrote in message ... | In the UK its seems normal for them to quarantine for 24 hrs. What a | waste of time!!!!!!!!!! | Chris. Waste of time? Why is the world would you say that? |
