Fish are cold blooded, which means that their metabolism is largely
dependent on the surrounding temperature. A higher temp (low 80's) will raise thier metabolism. In order for growth to flourish, you would also need to feed accordingly. Keep in mind, more food in = more waste. Water maintenance needs to be more diligent under these conditions. Poor water conditions can also stunt growth as well as produce sick fish. So you can see it's a balancing game. Raise the temp and feed more? You're also raising your chances of poor water quality and sick fish unless you pick up on keeping the water quality high. Justin "Mike" wrote in message news:cdoUd.36498$f%5.24173@trndny03... hey everyone, I have a 30 gallon tank, about 7 angel fish - all kinds of colors. 4 barbs, 2 sharks, 2 bottom feeders and a pleco, I cant understand why my angels do not grow. I feed them flake food in the morning and at night i feed them either baby shrimp or bloodworms. anyone have any suggestions to stimulate growth? |
