Can we get back to fish?

Spiral,

Tried posting to you several days ago but it got lost. Your 55g has
lovely plants. How do you keep them so green? I use Excel flourish
daily, weekly water changes, add iron once maybe twice a week and
have a high output light. Some swords have brown/blackish marks.
What is the name of the plant growing in most of your aquarium. Mine
sprouts green then turns brownish after a few days. I can shake this
plant and brown stuff flies off.

Any ideas???

TIA
