I have a All-Glass Megaflow Model 2 sump. I'm trying to connect it to
my LifeReef PreFilter. The LifeReef pre-filter has a 1" threaded male adapter coming out of the bottom, and a 1" barbed adapter that connects to that. I don't understand this "vacuum" style hose that comes with the Megaflow sump. It's a strange size. It seems to be somewhere between 1" and 1 1/4". The vacuum hose is too big for the 1" adapter coming out of my LifeReef, but it's to small for a 1 1/4" adapter. The PVC stand pipe that goes into the sump itself seems to be 1 1/4". The vacuum hose fits over it, but it's very tight, which I guess is good. Anyway, any suggestions on how to connect this vacuum hose up to the 1" output coming from the LifeReef prefilter? Should I just get rid of the vacuum style hose and create something with flex tubing? Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks. Steve |
