Moving reef and the like...

Hiya
I have a question. Right now my 45 gallon reef just has one inhabitant
a clown fish. I plan on moving the tank in the next 3 weeks and was
wondering if this might make the move easier in regards to tank cycling.
I plan on setting up my new tank with a DSB and tossing the old tank
which was a UGF. Well I an going to set it up eventually as time
permits..... Oh and would it benefit me to scrap off as much of the
coraillaine (sp) algae off the old tank and just dump it in the new tank?
