I just got to see the coolest thing! I have an anemone crab in my 8-gal. hex.
Dumped a few new empty shells in there tonight for the various hermits, and he found one he likes. Fiddled around with one for a long time, then I put another one in there because it's a big larger, and he took a quick look and slid right in, then proceeded to start peeling his anemones off his old shell. There were two little ones that he put under his belly on the edge of the shell, and now he's working on two bigger ones. The little ones peeled right off, then stuck right back on the new shell. Getting the larger ones off seems to involve irritating them so bad for so long that they let go. He and his anemones are shades of pink, white and cream. His old shell was green, but the new one is white with tan and pink. He'll be so well dressed! ![]() |
