Default Security Restrictions and Live Fish

TSA just replied (below). Hm, giving my difficulty of flying with a
cork screw (it's now legal, but I routinely have to get the TSA manager
to approve it), I wouldn't try this unless I had a backup plan.

I can imagine myself holding a flopping fish while it's plastic bag of
water goes through the X-Ray machine only to be flagged as over 3 oz.

---------------TSA's note ------------------

Thank you for your e-mail concerning traveling with pets.

Our security procedures do not prohibit you from bringing a pet on your
flight. However, you should contact your airline or travel agent, before
arriving at the airport to determine your airline's policy on traveling
with pets.

You will need to present the animal to the TSA Security Officers (TSO's)
at the checkpoint. You may walk your animal through the metal detector
with you. If this is not possible, your animal will have to undergo a
secondary screening, including a visual and physical inspection by our
Security Officers.

Your animal will NEVER be placed through an X-ray machine. However, you
may be asked to remove your animal from its carrier so that the carrier
can be placed on the X-ray machine.

We encourage you to visit our website at www.tsa.gov for additional
information about TSA. The website has information about prohibited and
permitted items, the screening process and procedures, and guidance for
special considerations that may assist in preparing for air travel. You
can find these tips and more at www.tsa.gov under the "Our Travelers"
section.
