Default Do these work for 'wave making'?

I never used them, but the nano cube crowd seems to be stuck on them
pretty heavy. In the nano-reef forum I have never seen any pros or
cons in regards to them, and it seems like most everyone that posts
about setting up their new nano's use them

Spotted these on marinedepot. Anyone used these? Look like they would get
stuck easily as coralline etc. grew on them.
