If some of the boys wanted to start communicating over the internet
again, what would be suggested / acceptable ground rules for those
contacts? What should boys know to protect themselves on the internet?
[I certainly have ideas, but I'd like to hear what members of this
group have to say.]

One of the things we have done to protect these kids is to keep them
very busy doing other things with friends. They will have no where
near the time for email and surfing they used to have, so don't be
discouraged if it takes a few days from them to post once I, and more
importantly their parents, give them the OK.

Oh, and I think I should explain an important promise I made to
someone who, at the time, didn't have so much support as he does now.
I had told him that if he ever presented a threat to certain friends,
I would do my best to track him down and see that he got the
psychiatric help that he needed -- I wouldn't get him out of the
logical consequences of his actions, but I wouldn't leave him to face
them by himself, I would stand by him through it all the way. In
short, he would never be alone in any time of trouble. As far as I'm
concerned -- I am his. I will not take away his responsibility for his
own actions and what not, but he will never ever have to face anything
without support and unconditional love. I may not always like what he
is doing or what he has done, but I will always love and support HIM.

I know that he now has a lot more support to lean on, but that doesn't
change the promise that I made. As long as I breath, I'm his.

Congratulations kiddie****er.
It's amazing how much you can write defending the indefensible.
