Default Noisy Fluval 404

"Dave Smith" wrote in message

After about a year of perfect service, my Fluval 404 has started
making a rattling kind of noise. I'm sure it's the impeller, but I've
taken it apart and put it back together a couple times and can't
readily see the slop. Is there a part that I can replace? Something
I can tighten?

Thanks very much for any help

Replace the impellor, or make sure you have a spare for when it comes
apart. The plastic wears away on the ends because it sits on a ceramic
shaft. I got 2 years from mine before it came apart suddenly.
