I just got a Bristlenose and he's the cutest thing, very small though and not making much inroads into my algae, but slowly we will get there. He's king of hiding, it's very hard to find him, so don't blame yourself. At least yours is alive. Lucky you found him. I would just give him as much peace and quiet as possible, and keep an eye that he doesn't develop any illness as a result of the stress.
