zuchinni - blanched or raw ??

I heard of both, boil it, then cool it, or just throw it raw. So is there
an argument for making either method better than the other? Aside from a
few young-adult johanni's the only other residents are a 7 in. pl*co and a
yellow tail 6in botia (loach).
