I will check that out. I am off to sell of some of my stock to a LFS, and I
will see what I they might have...Most likely though, I will end up at the
hardware store though..

Laguna sells a pretty large pond sized box of prechurned lava rock
you can use, and it's pretty cheap.

Hi Tim

Anyone use this filter? I purchased one and I did not take the

proprietary

filter media with it.. Anyone have any suggestions for the types of

"Bio
Balls" I can use with this filter?
I use hackly cellular rubber in a net-bag. It is cheap and works fine.

If You want to have a biologic filter You need as much surface as
possible in the filter media. So cellular rubber (hackly or with open
pores) or porose stone material is fine.

Lava rock would be a great idea.. I was thinking about the ceramic type
media, but if lava rock works then great.. I can take a trip to WalMart

or
even the Home Depot or Lowes to get myself a 5lb bag cheap.. Lava rock

is
easy to make into the correct size.
I think I might try some of the Lava rock in some of my aquaclears and

see
if maybe they will perform even better.. I presume though, as was

suggested
the lava rock should be about the size of Choc M&M's.??

Thanks Gents, your advice is taken respectively...

Tim..
