Default ID a Cichlid

Now first off I'm going to have to make a confession... I was weak and I
made a purchase from the dreaded "Assorted African Cichlids" tank. I
just couldn't help it, he was so pretty. So my problem is that every
time I settle on what type it is, I change my mind 10 minutes later. I
think it's just the coloring that throwing me off. I'm pretty sure its
a mbuna of some kind. It's got the right body shape and fin
placement/size. It's got very dark vertical bands that cross through
the eyes. There are yellow egg spots on the anal fin and a fine
sprinkling of pale spots on the dorsal fin and tail. It's overall
coloring is really dark, almost purple, but also shows some
orange/yellow stripes when he is feeling aggressive. I know it's kinda
hard to make a determination from just a description but I don't have a
photo yet.
Thanks for any help.
