I just recently sold off the last of about 120 fry and the parents have another group of fry with them now. Kribs are normally excellent parents however I did have a male that I had to remove as he was eating the fry. With this group the male is banished and hides under a log all day while the female swims around with her babies. Rick It was along while ago and as I said it was a community tank, there were other fish in the tank who slowly picked off the fry. I line bread them and ended up with one of the best looking male kribs. I have ever seen. The colours on him were magnificent especially the golds and magenta, and the spots ran from near the front of his dorsal fin to the tip of his tail. I don't think I have seen one to match his colour or size since. Unfortunately I don't have any in my tanks at the moment but they are one of my favourite fish. -- yes you can develop a very nicely colored male and female Krib. I picked the nicest male and female from my last spawn and am growing them out to breed. They are very nice and should produce even better fry. Rick |
