Default Can I replace four 36 W compact fluorescent light tubes with 24 W?

I have a 144 W fixture, 4 tubes of 36 W compact fluorescent light. Can
I replace these four 36 W compact fluorescent light tubes with four 24
W tubes? Will they damage my fixture?
