Default java fern going into hybernation

I owned a 150 gallon tank. It started leaking, so the manufacturer replaced
it with a 120 gallon acrylic. It took them 2 months and I kept all the drift
wood with java fern (attached to it)in the garage. I since put the drift
wood into the new tank, and all the java fern is coming back alive!
Unbelievable how hardy Java fern is!!! Has anyone heard of this?
