Default Fantail eaten missing fish?

We have a fantail and shubunkin in a nice large tank along with an algae
eater, or we did have.

The algae eater has disappeared completely from the tank, there is
absolutely no sign of him.

Is it possible that one of the other fish could have "eaten" him ?
