unfortunately, fancy GF seem to be 4N chromosomes and the progeny readily revert back
to "wild type".. color as well. Ingrid Charles wrote: I am "hospitaling" a few fantail goldfish, and they laid some eggs. I took the chunk of algae the eggs were in to another tank that had been pretty much idle. I have seen 24 fry so far, and not one with a double tail. Seems like there should be a few, anyway. they all are straight, like normal goldfish. When do fantails develop the distorted body shape? Or do I have a bunch of normal fish now? thanks ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List Manager: Puregold Goldfish List http://puregold.aquaria.net/ www.drsolo.com Solve the problem, dont waste energy finding who's to blame ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Unfortunately, I receive no money, gifts, discounts or other compensation for all the damn work I do, nor for any of the endorsements or recommendations I make. |
