Default Pasta ...

PASTE, Theo, PASTE! Pasta is what you put sauce on, that the Italians are
so famous for GBG!

When I mix mine up, I measure out about 1/3 cup of the dry stuff into a
bowl. Then you add "almost" that much of liquid, mix it up into a stiff
little ball, knead it well (like bread dough - or, like pasta dough if
you've ever made that from scratch!), then tear off little pieces and toss
it at the fish. That's the basic version . . .

However! To the dry stuff, I usually add about 1/2 tsp of koi clay (good for
their digestion, cleans out the innards, good for the white!), about 4-5
drops of liquid baby vitamins, about 1 or 2 tsp. of garlic powder, and
instead of water, I use orange juice for the taste and extra vitamin C. Here
in the States, I can get fresh orange juice with Calcium and Vitamin D
added - and I use that. You can toss some shrimp or other fish in a food
processor, grind it up and add that; you can chop up fresh spinach leaves or
Romaine lettuce (the kind you use for Cesar Salad - much better than some
lettuces). They like honey, you can add a tiny bit of that, too. Add
whatever you want!

I only make enough for one feeding (that's why I said 1/3 cup). I may be a
bad mommy, but they only get that once a day; the rest of the time, they'll
just have to make do with their pellets. You can add just about anything to
it, and adjust the liquid content to keep it at a dough stage. Don't make it
too soft and sticky, because it will be hard for you to tear off. It's
supposed to be stiff. This is the "quick and clean" method. Try it and see
how they like it. I can give you the "dirty" method if you want, but it
means making jello for your fish . . . G

OK, so I've read about Koi pasta several times, and just bought 4 kg of
pasta powder.

Fine, but apart from letting the fish sniff it with a straw, how do you
actually turn it into something useful ? How much do I use, and how much
water do I add ?

And what would be your (well, your fish) favorite recipies ? Add shrimps

?
Honey ? Propolis ? Orange juice ? All at the same time ?

Thanks for any pointers,

Theo
