I've just dug a 4000 gallon pond, finally filled yesterday (woohoo!) and I'm
in the market for a pump. I've used submersible Danner pumps for a smaller pond and hydroponics before and been happy, so I had planned to get the 1700 or 2500 for the new pond. In checking around, external pumps seem to be more energy efficient, so I am 'pond'ering going that route. How noisy are these guys? I'm looking at a PerformancePro Artisan A 1/8-30 (http://store.yahoo.com/123ponds/a-1-8-30.html) I prefer a 'babbling brook' sound to the 'thundering waterfall' sound so I'm wondering if this sort of pump will ruin the tranquility of the setting. If there are any other external pumps that are quieter than these, I'd appreciate any suggestions. |
