What does "sp." mean?

Hi "Limnophile",

Example: Firemouths are included in Thorichthys sp. ,
and their full Latin name is Thorichthys meeki .

So is 'Thorichthys sp. Firemouth' the same as 'Thorichthys meeki'? Or
are Firemouths a subset of meeki?
